| The Murphy bed frame consists of two parts: the mount and the
mattress carriage. The Mount MUST be bolted or otherwise constrained
to the floor. Wood bolts or concrete bolts are the most direct
way.
You could "rig up" something that would bolt to the wall, but a bit
of engineering (and some extra parts) would be required.
The base of the mount is what allows the springs to counterbalance
the weight of the mattress. It must be secured.
The mattress carriage simply drops into the mount/base.
The mattress carriage has a strap that keeps the mattress with the
carriage during lift/lower.
The mount/carriage system essentially sits independently from the
furniture. |
